Make Success Inevitable

Make Success Inevitable

How do you define success?

In today's world, success is often associated with material wealth or possessions, or with achieving a high status position in society, and millions blindly strive towards those vague and illusory ideals.

A much simpler, and effective definition of success is "making a decision of what you want in your life, and moving towards that desire earnestly".

Whether or not you ever achieve your desire is irrelevant, because you are already a success by the fact that you are seriously trying.

By making a decision of what you want, and putting in a true effort to get what you want, you are a success– provided that you stick with it and walk the talk.

You begin to cultivate many desirable qualities that tend to attract positive things into your life almost effortlessly, namely:

Presence
Dedication
Discipline
Purpose
Motivation
Clarity of thought
Passion
Creativity
Poise
Responsibility
Persistence

"A success is the school teacher who is teaching because that's what he or she wants to do. A success is the entrepreneur who starts his own company because that was his dream — that's what he wanted to do. A success is the salesperson who wants to become the best salesperson in his or her company and sets forth on the pursuit of that goal.

A success is anyone who is realizing a worthy predetermined ideal, because that's what he or she decided to do … deliberately." — Earl Nightingale

So to simplify. If you want to be a success: Pick something, and stick to it.

Well how do I pick something? I have no clue what I want to do

Napolean Hill wrote a classic book called "Think and Grow Rich" where he spent 20 years of his life studying the most prestigious and accomplished business people of his time including: Henry Ford, Andrew Carnegie, and Thomas Edison, among others.

What he learned from those people is that they all possessed a "Definite Major Purpose" in life. They all decided exactly what they were going to dedicate their life towards– and aligned their thoughts and actions to that end.

This idea is similar to a goal but it is also beyond goals. It's your life's purpose. The thing that all your goals align to.

Your purpose is your guiding light. Once you decide on your purpose it becomes much easier to decide what paths to take in life because you simply have to ask yourself "Does this align with my purpose?"

For a more in depth discussion of Purpose, definitely check out "Think and Grow Rich".

One of the surest ways to achieve your desires in life, is to visualize your desired outcome clearly in your mind, and then "backwards engineer" the necessary elements required to make that outcome happen.

By doing this, you make success inevitable– rather then saying "I want X" and blindly moving along in a hope to reach it, you think "I have X" and use your mind and imagination to visualize how you got there. That way, you already have a roadmap to your goal and you simply have to follow the path until you reach it!

So now that you've drawn out the pathway in your mind… the tough part is staying on that path– sticking to it.

The Mastermind

Another idea introduced by Napolean Hill in his book "Think and Grow Rich" is the idea of The Mastermind. A mastermind is group of like minded individuals who meet regularly to work towards the goals and desires of the people in the group harmoniously– hmm sounds like Crossfit. We've all heard "you become an average of the five people you are closest to." Well, the Mastermind is you taking conscious control of that phenomenon!

Considering that we all come from different backgrounds, and we all have both positive and negative influences in our lives– it may be difficult to imagine building a group of people that operate in this fashion of mutual benefit and harmony.

A good way to start is to just add more and more positive influences into your life– rather than worrying about getting rid of negative people, some of which might be relatives!

Building a virtual mastermind of positive books, educational programs, coaching, etc. is a great way to start adding a massive influx of positive material to "fertilize" your mind… eventually you'll be flooding your mind with so much awesomeness, that any negativity won't even be on your radar, and won't be able to take hold of you.

My purpose in writing this article, was to offer a few tidbits for you to take and run with.

Primarily, I'd like these ideas to serve as a tool for awareness ("Awareness gains its own momentum" – Steven Covey), so you can begin to see these forces at work in the people that you look up to and admire– and eventually cultivate them in your own life!

Hope this article was enjoyable– later!
